type of au;
1. tats, your character has a tattoo of the first words the love of their life will say to them
2. familiars, your character has an animal tattoo representing their soul mate on them
3. glow, the first time your character sees their soul mate, their chests glow!
4. world in color, life is literally black and white, until you see your soul mate for the first time
5. choose your own, i'm definitely missing a milly because i'm lazy, pick your own

situation;
1. first meeting, you've never met this person before.
2. childhood mates, you've always known this person -- but on one particular birthday, everything changes.
3. together, you've been in a relationship for awhile now! happily wed or not, you decide.
4. not together, you've known you're soul mates for a long time, and yet have avoided a relationship.

Okay, pretty sure we all know how this works, but if not, here's a brief rundown:

The Alpha.
* Stereotypically type A personalities.
* Anatomically: Males have a penis; females may have a penis in addition to a vagina.
* Alphas knot their mates, meaning that the base of the penis swells and locks them inside their mate while they produce copious amounts of semen in an effort to breed.
* Strong sense of smell.
* Near an Omega in heat, they experience a compulsion to mate that is almost impossible to overcome.
* Alphas may go into rut, which is their equivalent of Omega heat, and drives them to mate.

The Beta.
* Ordinary human being.
* Males have penises; females have vaginas.
* Can mate to anyone.
* Might be able to smell hormones of Omegas and Alphas, but will not be overwhelmingly affected by them.

The Omega.
* Stereotypically submissive, quiet, intelligent and less physically able.
* Female anatomy is similar to Betas; males are self-lubricating and may have either an external or internal vaginal setup.
* Regularly go into heat, which involves being overcome by the urge to mate. They are unable to consent while in heat.
* May be made compliant by a bite to the neck. However, that may also induce a mating bond.
* In days gone by they were often regarded as second-class citizens or prizes to be won.

Loki looked around the crowd, tilting his head as he walked slowly from one side of the large gathering to the other while giving his speech. The smile on his face turned dark and mischievous, standing at his full height before snarling out the word at the top of his lungs, scepter pointed at the crowd. "KNEEL!"

He watched as they all started to drop, noticing an old man who was obviously refusing. He started towards him before spotting a younger man instead, which isn't what caught him attention. He would punish the other just as severely as the old man, but then he saw his face, his own showing his shock. "You there." He said, pointing his scepter at the man, turning to move away from the old man, working his way through the crowd.

"What trick is this?" He asked quietly, his eyes narrowing slowly. If this was some illusion or trick to trap him he would find whoever was responsible and they would pay, but as he neared he knew it was no joke. This man looked like him, yes, but not identical. He was leaner, his hair longer and wilder...and then there was his eyes. They were mesmerizing. "Who are you?"
